Okay, okay, we get it. Our store's name is "The Bedroom Source." But that really doesn't mean all the furniture we carry needs to be relegated to your teen or tween's bedroom. In fact, many of our furniture collections would probably coordinate quite nicely with other areas of your home. Whether you have a room you can designate as a family office or merely position the furniture in a bonus room or other area of your home, we think these study pieces can function well as part of a bedroom set, or on their own two (or four) feet!
Catalina Collection Overview
The Catalina Collection offers an upgraded dorm room ambiance perfect for your college-bound boy or girl. This smartly designed collection offers built-in tech-friendly additions along with cutting-edge design; this makes it perfect for plugged-in kids and parents who prefer cords to remain hidden. This collection works best with contemporary design themes like sleek lines and simple styles. While the Catalina Collection is available in both dark and light variations, we think the darker "chalkboard" finish is most suitable for rooms outside the bedroom, whether it will be used by a boy or a girl.
Catalina Collection Bookcase
The Catalina Bookcase includes three adjustable wood shelves and cord exits in the back panel. Beneath the shelving, you'll find a single drawer, supported by a metal base. The drawer features parchment finish, and the dividers between the shelves offer additional organization without the need for book ends.
Measurements: 31" wide by 16" deep and 65" high
Catalina Collection Metal Cabinet
Similar in size to the Catalina Bookcase, the Catalina Metal Cabinet offers an alternative style bookcase that also includes a single storage drawer for electronics, paperwork, and digital storage. Because the shelving is hidden behind the two doors, this piece provides plenty of storage without the visual clutter that can come with a traditional bookcase. An added bonus is that the all-metal design may mesh better with your home's design than whatever your child stores on his or her shelves!
Measurements: 28" wide by 19" deep and 71" high
Catalina Collection Desk and Hutch
The Catalina Desk, like the metal bookcase and cabinet, is comprised of a metal frame. Drawer fronts are made of Elm Veneers. With two side-by-side drawers beneath the work surface (one of which includes a single, felt-lined storage tray), the space below the work surface is generally open, offering an airy design.
The desk can be paired with the stylishly-framed Catalina Hutch. The Hutch includes removable dividers, a cork-backed panel, and cord exits in the rear.
A third item you may want to pair with your Catalina Desk is the Catalina Swivel Desk Chair (pictured above). With an upholstered seat pad, which can be lifted to reveal extra storage, the chair's slatted back coordinates with the airy, modern feel of the other Catalina pieces.
