Inspired by a Parisian carousel, the Genevieve Collection by Smartstuff™ evokes a playful, no-frills beauty that subtly incorporates feminine details into a simple, traditional design. With most pieces featuring an airy French White painted finish, offset by a few antique metal accents pieces and upholstered pieces, the Genevieve Collection is a masterpiece of unaffected design that your little beauty will be sure to love.
One of the hallmarks of aesthetically pleasing design is variety, and another is unity. Genevieve incorporates variety of texture and color with a few key metal pieces that are sure to become the focal point of the room, standing out against the backdrop of the otherwise French white pieces. Since the same wistful lines are mirrored, unity is easily achieved even with the diversity of finishes, for a surprisingly quaint look that’s anything but fussy.
The first and most striking metal piece is the Genevieve Metal Bed, which comes in either Twin or Full sizes. Unlike most metal bed frames, this one has a solid headboard and footboard, both of which boast an oval silhouette. The headboard is crowned with a lacy-looking ornamental piece in the same vintage-looking bronze-toned metal as the rest of the frame. Both the headboard and the footboard also incorporate an added oval design, which reinforces the elegant design. The Twin bed measures 40 inches wide by 80 inches deep and 57 inches high, with a footboard height of 33 inches. The Full bed measures 55 inches wide by 78 inches deep and 58 inches high, with a footboard height of 35 inches. Both sizes can accommodate the Genevieve Trundle Unit.
The companion piece to the Genevieve Metal Bed is the Genevieve Metal Mirror. In a small bedroom, combining the two might be a little much, but in a larger room, the combination could be unifying, especially if the pieces are in different areas of the room. This beveled mirror has a tilting metal frame that mimics the design of the Metal Bed headboard — albeit in a tall, rather than wide, oval. The same lacy ornament completes the top, for a finished, dressed-up look, and the same theme is reflected in the stand for the mirror itself. The mirror measures 30 inches wide by 6 inches deep and 37 inches wide and pairs nicely atop the Genevieve Bureau.
A third metal piece in the collection is the Genevieve Vertical Metal Mirror. Measuring 28 inches wide by 1 inch deep and 43 inches high, this antique-looking piece has a beveled mirror outer frame that accentuates the rounded top.
Not only do the above-mentioned metal pieces complement the French White painted finish of most other pieces in the Genevieve Collection, but they also coordinate with the drawer pull hardware on storage pieces. An added texture and color is provided through a few carefully chosen and designed upholstered pieces, providing a full selection of pretty pieces to outfit your daughter’s bedroom.
