Innovative Combination Beds: Maxtrix Lofts with Desks, Part 1

Posted on 09/22/2016

The magic of Maxtrix® is that not only are the possibilities nearly endless, but none of them are (necessarily) permanent. As you can see in this YouTube video, the same Basic Maxtrix Bed can be used as a stand-alone piece or as part of a Loft or Bunk Bed. But if you don’t want to commit to one arrangement, that’s okay too: You can change it up anytime! Storage pieces like the 4-Drawer Dresser or 3-Drawer Narrow Chest can be used with a Crown Moulding Top and Base as free-standing pieces, or without the Moulding set, nestled beneath other pieces (such as a Maxtrix Desk or Loft Bed). For a Maxtrix Loft Bed or set of Bunk Beds, you get to select your preferred way of entry: Side Stairs (Which add 20 inches to the bed width), Angled Ladder with Handrail (which adds 32 inches), or Straight Ladder (which adds 4 inches).

Maxtrix Low Loft Storage Bed with Pull-Out Desk

While pictured with a Staircase, this Low Loft Storage Bed can be customized and changed up as often as you please! The entire length is 100 inches, and the under-bed area offers 33 inches of space to fill with storage pieces. The extra Storage Drawers incorporated into the Staircase provide an impressive amount of storage, especially when paired with the 3-Drawer Chest. If you need more storage, you could switch out the Pull-Out Desk for a second Chest or raise the Bed to a Mid or High Loft to allow for an extra layer or two of drawers. A full-size Bed is also an option. As pictured, though, the Desk can be pushed in to allow for extra floor space, which may be at a premium for your child. The Staircase unit and Desk can be switched, as well.

Maxrix High Study Loft

With rock solid construction and Maxtrix’s special Rock Lock Connectors (see this YouTube video), you won’t have to worry about your child’s safety atop (or beneath) this High or Ultra-High Study Loft. Beneath either a Twin or Full Bed, you have plenty of space to incorporate a Maxtrix Desk or an existing desk or work table of your choice. You could also add one or two Narrow 3-Drawer Chests or a Bookcase, if you’d like. The High Twin Loft measures 80 inches wide by 42-1/2 inches deep and 71 inches high, while the Full bed measures 57-1/2 inches deep, instead. The High Loft offers 52 inches of clearance beneath the bed, while the Ultra High Loft offers 58 inches of clearance. (The Ultra High Loft does offer only the two entry options of a Straight or Angled Ladder.)
