As children’s bedroom experts for over 30 years, we make beds our business. Whatever additional furniture pieces you choose to include in your child’s bedroom, the bed is the centerpiece. We carry only the best children’s mattresses and beds and can help you select the options most suitable for your child’s needs.
Perhaps most importantly, our mattresses are the right height. Low-profile mattresses are suitable and safe for basic beds as well as bunk beds. Unlike the generic children’s mattresses which big box retailers carry, here at The Bedroom Source, we specialize in anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and hypo-allergenic options.
One category of low-profile mattress that we carry is Naturepedic Mattresses. This organic line will provide your child with safe, comfortable medium-firm support. Organic materials are used in both the quilted cotton fabric and the waterproof, dust-mite-proof encasement, so you can rest easy, knowing your child is safe and sound.
Another option is our BSF eco-friendly memory foam collection. Comprised of CertiPur-US certified foams and fabrics that meet the Oeko Tex Standard 100 for Confidence in Textiles. As such, these mattresses make a minimal environmental impact while achieving high marks for the luxury and comfort for which memory foam mattresses are well known.
Other options come from well-known names in the mattress industry such as Gold Bond. All of our mattresses are available for free delivery, when you purchase your mattress at the same time as a bed of your choice. (If you wish to have your mattress delivered earlier than the bed is available, we can deliver the mattress separately, for a nominal fee.)
While the right mattress will provide comfort and safety, the right bed will make a visual statement in your child’s room. Depending on the bed style you choose, the right bed can also provide for your child’s entertainment, study, guest, or storage needs, as well.
Day beds are unique in that they appear similar to a couch or sofa, with a rail along one long side, in addition to a headboard and footboard. Perfect for a bedroom with no space for extra seating, a daybed can transform from a nighttime sleeping place to daytime seating.
A platform bed is one that has a pedestal foundation, instead of four separate legs.
Some platform beds are also storage beds, providing drawers or cubbies under the bed or shelving within the headboard.
A spin on the storage bed idea is the trundle bed, which includes a large drawer the size of a mattress that can be pulled out from beneath the main bed. A trundle could be used for any kind of storage but also allows space for a second mattress — perfect for an overnight guest.
The contemporary simplicity of an iron bed may suit some tastes, as will the ever-elegant design of a Sleigh Bed.
For a fun-loving feel, there’s always the Slide Bed, building on a Loft Bed or Bunk Bed design. Our popular Maxtrix system can combine many elements of the bed styles described above and easily transition to another style, when you see fit.
