We all say that vacations and other times we spend with our kids during these precious growing-up years are worthwhile for the memories. Well, why not plan ahead to maximize the memories you're going to create this summer. While we're focusing on the idea of vacation memories, these ideas will work for any type of summer fun — or any time of year, for that matter! In Part 1, we started with 3 tips for managing photos to make prompt printing of vacation photos possible. Now we're going to check out some ideas for printing and displaying the photos you've selected.

Photo Printing Options

There are so many ways you can print photos, too. Many photo printing companies allow you to upload photo files directly from your phone to their website; you can then decide whether you want to print separate 4x6 photos to put into an album, a photo book, or some other format. Here's a review of the top 10 photo-printing websites, and here's one of the top 7 photo books, also.

If you really don't want to mess with a lot of photo editing and embellishing or deciding on a separate photo-printing platform, check out the streamlined approach of Chatbooks.

Video Additions

Taking video on the same device as still photographs is a fairly recent luxury, and I'm convinced that most of us fail to take full advantage of the capability. As with photos, videos are just not nearly as accessible to our kids when they're taking up room on our phones.

Several video slideshow apps allow you to create slideshows with your choice of music; some provide the option of integrating video as well. Not only can you post your vacation slideshow to social media, but with QR codes you can also integrate easy access to the slideshow from your photo book, scrapbook, or whatever physical means you choose to display your vacation photographs.

Audio Options

As much as you want to remember the sights, don't forget about the sounds! Do you wish you could hear the ocean waves again, the sound of that classic carousel, your daughter's giggle, a monkey's chatter, or your son's conversation with Mickey Mouse, himself? Well, your phone probably makes recording sound fairly easy. Adding audio to your photo book or family photo takes it to a new level. As mentioned above, you can use a QR code. For a lower tech option that requires no device, you could re-record any sound on a device like this one or piggy-back on your phone's technology to use this sound module.

Vacation photos and videos and audio clips aren't the only ways you can preserve your family's summer memories. Check out Part 3 for innovative, 3D ideas for keeping vacation memories alive.
